Old
Stone Town:
Visiting Stone Town will awaken your senses to an extraordinary
past. Wander through narrow cobbled streets, exploring exotic
bazaars and shops, or marvelling at ancient houses and ornate
Arab carved doors. Visit the old slave market and the Sultan’s
Palace Museum, and stay overnight in one of the historic buildings
which have been luxuriantly refurbished. We recommend the Zanzibar
Serena Inn, with its imposing presence on the waterfront, Emerson
and Green, a beautifully restored palace, or the Mbweni Ruins
Hotel, set in secluded botanical gardens on the outskirts of Stone
Town. |
