Kingdom
of the Zulu:
KwaZulu
Natal, the majestic kingdom of the Zulu, with its proud history
and vibrant culture, offers fantastic natural diversity. The rugged
coastline of golden beaches and tropical forests, and the mystical
Drakensberg Mountains, frame this region of cultural and historical
significance. For 70 years, from the late 1800s, this area was
the scene of bloody battles between British forces, Boer commandos
and Zulu armies over access to land. The port city of Durban is
a cultural fusion influenced by its location on the Indian Ocean,
and forms a gateway to the beaches and game reserves to the north.
