Okavango
Your Way (5 days):
A Botswana experience is only complete after a sojourn in
the Okavango Delta. The delta boasts some of the most luxurious
and authentic camps in Africa, almost all tented on raised platforms,
allowing you to absorb the sights and sounds of the bush. In order
to experience the diversity of the delta, we advise a stay of
at least 2 nights each in a land and water camp. Luxurious Eagle
Island Camp allows you to savour the tranquil delta waterways
during the flooding season (July - September), whilst Camp Okavango
and Xugana Island Lodge offer water-based activities all year
round. Deluxe Jao and Chief’s Camps provide land and water
experiences during the flooding period, with mokoro, boat and
vehicle excursions. Xakanaxa, one of Botswana’s pioneer
camps, Kwara and classic Stanley’s Camps offer year-round
land and water activities, with a highlight at Stanley’s
the opportunity to walk with resident elephant. Excellent wildlife
viewing is guaranteed at Mombo, set on game-rich Chief’s
Island, and at Khwai River Lodge, situated on the boundary of
Moremi Game Reserve. Transfer by air, from Maun or Kasane, direct
to the lodge of your choice, and between the camps by air or,
in some cases, by boat.
