Viki
was born and grew up in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal where she completed
her schooling and moved into the world of publishing where she
spent a period of 3 years in a Sales and Marketing environment.
From there, she moved into the pharmaceutical industry where she
spent a further 5 years in the field of Sales and Marketing.
After the birth of her third child (a son after
two daughters!), Viki took a well deserved break and relocated
to Cape Town where she joined Singita Private Game Reserve,
again working in Sales and Marketing Department. After two years
personal circumstances dictated another relocation, this time
to Johannesburg, where she joined the Sales
team at Journey Beyond in July 2005. Viki works in support of

sales
related activities and closely with Phillip Lategan & Steve
Ellis.
While
her travels have been mainly local, she feels particularly fortunate
to have had the opportunity to live in two really beautiful
provinces (Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Cape). Growing up, she spent
most childhood holidays in the Drakensberg and experienced her
first ever snowfall there at the age of 5 and made her very
first snowman (not a usual activity in Africa!). Her favourite
place to be in South Africa is Kwa-Zulu Natal
because of the vast and varied terrains which offer such unique
experiences
from the mountains to the midlands and the ocean. Time off in
Cape
Town was spent taking long, leisurely
drives exploring the city and

surrounding
areas (Hout Bay, Langebaan
and Rooi Els were firm favourites) as well as up and down the
Garden Route. In Viki’s personal opinion, she believes
Knysna to be one of the most beautiful places in the South Africa!
This is how she sums it up, “My passion
for Sales & Marketing comes from meeting and dealing with
so many different types of people on a daily basis in an exciting,
dynamic and ever-changing environment, Singita Private Game
Reserve was my introduction to the world of travel and tourism
and the challenge of learning new things every day in an environment
I thrive in and am passionate about is about the best place
in the world to be!”
