Lynette Tait hails from Cape Town, where she spent her early childhood. At the young age of 10 her family relocated to Johannesburg where she completed her schooling and started working temporarily in a bank to earn extra income. Banking was however, not her forte! Her dream was to become an artist, unfortunately for Lynette her family did not agree! Lynette then decided that the closest she would get to her dream would be to explore the world, to see and enjoy art in the many different countries.
And so to do this, she decided to take a gap year once she completed high school. Lynette travelled to the United States of America to gain life experience and exploring the USA, returning to South Africa a year later when she decided to make the travel industry her career of choice!
Her working career started after completing a 6 months travel course. She was immediately employed by Grosvenor Tours in the Conference / Operations Division for 4 years.
During this time she did a lot of travelling around South Africa and her |

highlights included trips to Mashatu Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, the Drakensberg, Lake Kariba, on of the most unique areas in the world and a once in a life time trip on the Blue Train. One of Lynette’s fondest memories was an elephant back safari in Victoria Falls before she escorted her first big incentive group.
Four years later she decided to move on and joined Sunbound Incentives, then one of the leading Destination Management Companies in South Africa. Not only did she handle large incentive groups successfully but she also arranged a variety of interesting and exciting events. This included, but was not limited to accompanying a group around Cape Town, a Gala dinner at the Castle of Good hope with Cape Minstrels, all the famous sightseeing trips, including the Cape Peninsula in the wonderful Nostalgic Spier Steam Train. At one of the Awards Ceremony’s hosted by Lynette, she was finally able to use some her artistic flare when she designed on of the gifts given to the 140 delegates – a Perspex sculpture of Table Mountain. |

During her time at Sunbound Incentives, Lynette married her high school sweet heart, whom she had known since she was only 16 year old. As both of them love the bush they decided to go to Botswana and visit the famous Okavango Delta on their honeymoon. They particularly enjoyed Tiger fishing (Lynette managed to catch a fish!!) but also loved the game viewing and the dug out canoe trips.
As happens, Lynette’s priorities soon changed and she felt she no longer wanted to travel as much, and so she decided to focus on a different aspect of travel – the FIT market. Lynette joined
Welcome Tourism Services working with markets originating from the UK, USA and Russia, where she had the privilege of organising (amongst others) Miss Russia’s entire travel itinerary for South Africa.
Lynette joined Journey Beyond in October 2008 where she uses her valuable skills to assist clients in the planning of their trips to Southern Africa.
